Why is ALTO being offered?

In the past , due to industry regulations, Bell's long distance rates and plans had been added to your Mornington telephone bill--we billed you on behalf of Bell Telephone. Bell now sends their own bill for long distance services to Mornington customers.

Yes it does. Mornington will continue to bill your local service and any call management features that you have. Bell will bill for any long distance calls you make. If you have any billing issues with your long distance, you will need to contact Bell.

Mornington Communications was aware that our co-op members would not like receiving two phone bills. That is why we introduced ALTO Long Distance Services as an alternative. By switching to ALTO, you will continue to receive your local telephone and long distance all on one bill.

Mornington Communications wants to be your first choice as a service provider for local and long distance — we are a company you already know and trust — but you may also choose another service provider. You will continue to receive your local service from Mornington, but your long distance will come as a second bill. If you have any billing issues regarding your long distance, you will need to call your service provider. If the service provider you choose uses access numbers, you may still want to consider an ALTO calling plan with no monthly fees for the times that you or your guests forget to use the access number first. You would still have the benefit of lower rates than your current service provider.

Sometimes when placing calling card calls by dialing 0+, you may connect with another carrier who will charge more for your calls. This happens a lot at payphones because there are so many carriers offering pay phone services. The best way to avoid these charges is to always dial 1-866-913-5582 when making calling card calls.
